Young Leaders Society Joins GO DO GOOD at Open Streets

Open Streets attendees received GO DO GOOD pins and LIVE UNITED t-shirts for sharing their good deeds and promoting United Way’s investment of over $9 million in Education programming this year

State Street was converted, for one day, into a blocks-long pedestrian playground offering everything from Roller Disco to Cake Decorating to Yoga on Saturday, October 1st. Volunteers from the Young Leaders Society (YLS) staffed a United Way Information Table right in the middle of Our Great Street and informed people about everything that our organization does to help keep this city great. Visitors to our table signed up for volunteer opportunities, got all kinds of information about United Way and our new Education Initiative, and were able to write down good deeds they’d done recently toward the Go Do Good Initiative’s 100,000 GOOD Deeds. We all had a great time, and were able to reach a ton of people. State Street makes a great pedestrian space, and we’re grateful to Open Streets Chicago and the Chicago Loop Alliance for the opportunity to be a part of this awesome event. Posted on behalf of Tyler Guth, Lockton Inc. & YLS Volunteer Committee Member.

Hi! My kids and I were in Chicago over the holidays and the GO DO Good theme had become our mantra. Any way I can purchase the yellow buttons? Are there tshirts available? What a great program!

    Hi Sarah,

We have some leftover pins we’d be happy to send your way. Can you provide me with an address?
