WLC Makes an Impact on Education

100 women attended the Making an Impact on Education event hosted by the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) on Thursday morning. The keynote speaker for the event was Beth Swanson, Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Beth shared with the group a presentation on the Mayor’s priorities in education. She also shared that the Mayor has made education reform one of his top issues. Deb DeHaas, Vice Chairman and Central Region Managing Partner, hosted the event at the Deloitte headquarters. Deb mentioned in her remarks her longtime support of the United Way and WLC. She also announced the exciting news that WLC will be partnering with the Young Women’s Leadership Charter School — providing them with funding and volunteer resources. This partnership will ensure that the girls of YWLCS are on track to graduate from high school and become our next generation of women leaders. For more information on WLC click here.
