What the Gift of Education Means for 50,000 Kids in our Region

The season of giving is upon us once again, and this year, we would like to invite you to give back to your community by giving the gift of education to children across our region. Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success and we know there is unstoppable power in the strength of a neighborhood when kids have the opportunities and resources they need to thrive in 2012 and beyond. New Year. Bright Future. gives YOU the power to be an integral part of this social movement. Through United Way’s two education strategies: early childhood education and middle school transition into high school, we aim to transform the lives of 50,000 students across our region. United Way’s 31 early childhood education programs across our region strive to ensure kids enter school with the skills they need to succeed. When you GIVE to United Way’s Education Initiative, children ages 0-5 receive quality childcare, family support and  early intervention activities that allow them to start 2012 on the track to success. United Way’s 26 middle school education programs across our region work to guarantee students transition to high school successfully and are on track to graduate. Middle school is where the rubber meets the road and if kids are behind when they enter the 9th grade, they are more likely to drop out of high school. When you GIVE to United Way’s Education Initiative, kids in 6th-9th grade receive the mentoring and tutoring they need to start 2012 off on the right track. Visit the New Year. Bright Future. website here to donate to our Education Initiative and give the gift of education this year.
