LIVE UNITED Neighborhood Network in West Chicago Launches with Block Party that is True Celebration of Community

More than 1,000 area residents and advocates packed Leman Middle School in West Chicago for a community block party and celebration of an enhanced partnership with United Way that will bring additional resources in education, income and health to the area.

From babies to seniors, it was a true celebration of community amidst music, food, games, school supplies, art projects, Zumba and yoga demonstrations, resources from area organizations and a very special musical performance by Leman students.

As the second LIVE UNITED Neighborhood Network and first in the suburbs, the model has United Way mobilizing funding, partners, volunteers and expertise to support lead agency WeGo Together for Kids, a coalition of more than 50 community organizations and agencies to achieve specific measurable goals in addressing mental health, educational success and economic stability in the community.

Special thanks to partners WeGo Together for Kids, Metropolitan Family Services and the City of West Chicago, to BMO Harris Bank for their cornerstone investment in our LIVE UNITED Neighborhood Networks, and to Nicor Gas for their support of the Neighborhood Network in West Chicago.
