United Way of Metropolitan Chicago has once again partnered with Chicagoland non-profit agencies to answer questions related to health care and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and assist people in signing up for coverage. UWMC and its non-profit agency partners, in collaboration with Get Covered Illinois, have hired 38 In-Person Counselors (IPCs) to assist Chicagoans 1-on-1 to get the health coverage they need.
Following last year’s successful campaign where partners helped enroll 7,000 Chicagoans into coverage, we are once again reaching out to community based organizations, hospitals, churches, small businesses, elected officials and other stakeholders to spread the word and bring all of Chicago into coverage.
As we approach the holidays and more winter weather, having the security of health coverage is increasingly important – December 15th is the last day to enroll in coverage to make sure that it’s active beginning on January 1, 2015. Open enrollment for the private health insurance marketplace is open until February 15, 2015. Don’t be left out in the cold! Enroll today!
