BMO Financial Group Employees Raise the Bar for Giving

BMO cares about the communities it serves. That’s evident not just by their more than $4 million in support—with over $3 million from employee donations—for United Way’s work, but by the volunteer hours (more than 2,100) contributed by their employees and by BMO Harris Bank’s investment in United Way’s Neighborhood Network Initiative.

Through a three year, $1,500,000 investment (above and beyond their other generous corporate giving), BMO Harris Bank is providing crucial support to United Way’s Neighborhood Network Initiative. Located in ten different neighborhoods in the Chicago metropolitan region, United Way Neighborhood Networks address local community challenges by driving focused collaboration to achieve lasting change. After a recent day volunteering in the Austin Neighborhood Network, one BMO Harris Bank employee remarked, “The BMO Harris Bank team is so happy to make a difference in the United Way Neighborhood Networks. We were humbled to work with the local community to create change.”

The vision and ongoing commitment at all levels from BMO means better lives for thousands of our neighbors and new hope for struggling communities. BMO is the winner for the third year in a row of United Way’s Community Spirit Award, for the fifth year in a row of United Way’s Leadership Giving Pillar Award, and a new award winner of United Way’s Volunteerism Pillar. As our top corporate partner, BMO continues to be an example of corporate and individual philanthropy at its best.
