Every year more than 10,000 United Way volunteers improve lives across Chicagoland. These caring volunteers give back in many ways. Some roll up their sleeves to contribute manual labor, while others share their leadership and expertise. Whatever your talents, there is a united way volunteer role that's right for you. • United Way Individual Volunteers

  ... are a diverse group of people who contribute an equally diverse array of skills during one-time or extended roles at our partner agencies across the region. Regardless of what your talents are, regardless of whether you are a financial advisor or a photographer, there is a United Way partner agency that needs you!

• A United Way Day of Caring

  ... is an opportunity for you and the caring people you work with to help out at an agency that could use some extra hands. You can make a real difference by tackling large projects such as painting, landscaping, or light maintenance. You'll have the opportunity to see firsthand the results United Way is getting in our community!

• United Way Young Leaders Society (YLS)

  ... provides young professionals the opportunity to have a positive impact on their community. Participants have the opportunity to volunteer, network and develop leadership skills in a variety of informal settings.

• United Way Outreach Committee Volunteers

  ... help us identify and meet the unique needs of the African American, Latino and Asian Pacific American communities

• United Way Project Blueprint

  ... can help you invest your expertise in our community as a board member at a United Way partner agency. Project Blueprint starts with caring and talented people such as you and trains them to be knowledgeable and effective board members. Participants learn about nonprofit governance and management, the responsibilities of board members, strategic planning, the importance of fundraising and more. Upon completion of training, United Way works to match candidates with partner agencies for mutual growth and benefit.
