- 1 in 10 people in the labor force, or 67,000 individuals, are unemployed in the western suburbs
- 25% of residents in the western suburbs are low-income
- More than 1/3 of people over age 25 have not completed education beyond high school
- 175,000 housing units in the western suburbs are renter-occupied or vacant
Through coordinated efforts, United Way is working with key corporate and agency partners, donors and volunteers to change the story for individuals, families and entire communities in the western suburbs.
