Holiday Volunteering with YLS

On Saturday, December 14th, United Way’s Young Leaders Society (YLS) gathered to volunteer at the annual Kelly Hall YMCA Holiday Party. The holiday party is an exciting time for the Humboldt Park neighborhood, affording area residents an opportunity to celebrate the holidays in a way they would not be able to do without help from the YMCA. United Way North-Northwest & The Goulden Touch Host “Strike Gould” to Benefit Palatine Opportunity Center

Tuesday, November 12, United Way North-Northwest and Chicago Bears Kicker Robbie Gould’s public charity, The Goulden Touch, teamed up to bring much-needed resources to Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs with a “Strike Gould” bowling event benefiting the Palatine Opportunity Center. The bowling tournament, hosted at Pinstripes in Northbrook, brought together corporations, individuals and groups from around Chicagoland. Fresh Produce Days with YLS

In an effort to continue to the United Way Young Leaders Society (YLS) focus on volunteerism, several committee members participated in Fresh Produce Days at the Kelley Hall YMCA in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood on November 2nd. United Way, along with several other volunteer organizations, come together to provide fresh produce and basic grocery staples to residents in communities of greatest need. October 1, 2013 marked the beginning of a new era of health insurance in America. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) Federal Online Marketplace opened for business.
